Top 10 Engagement Session Locations in San Diego 2015

This past season was a whirlwind of amazing engagements for us here at Aaron Huniu Photography! We were able to capture so many incredible moments for our couples in the best local spots San Diego has to offer. These engagement session locations made our Top Ten this engagement season and here is why!

1. Balboa Park

A paradigm of San Diego history, Balboa Park encompasses everything you could imagine of timeless beauty and architectural spectacle. Like a step back in time, Balboa Park’s intricate sculpture gardens, tranquil water ponds, aviary, historic museums and exotic agriculture are only a few of the wonders of this 1,200 acre 147 year old urban cultural park. The versatility and landmark history of Balboa Park is exciting to our couples who are looking for that classic, vintage romance and have an appreciation for the ageless allure of this San Diego must-see site.



2. Encinitas

Small town charm and classic coastal views are what the town of Encinitas brings for our couples. Quaint, simple and community-centric, this neighborhood pays homage to the past but is more alive than ever with innovative architecture, up and coming restaurants and breweries and all-around San Diego sunshine.



3. La Jolla Shores

If you’re looking for the perfect beachside engagement session location, La Jolla Shores is one of the best! From the monumental Scripps Pier to the beautiful cliffs overlooking the sandy shore, this picturesque San Diego beach hot spot is the perfect backdrop for those classic sunset, wave-ridden shots for our couples.


4. Leo Carrillo Ranch Park (Carlsbad)

A historic working ranch built in the late 1930’s, Leo Carrillo Ranch Park combines the rustic beauty of adobe and wood architecture with the old California culture of Old San Diego. Our couples greatly enjoy the aged buildings and ranch houses with the farm-like openness that the park’s shrubs and agricultural landscape provide. With additional features such as an age-old windmill and roaming peacocks, this park is a beautiful remnant of San Diego history.


5. Marian Bear Memorial Park (Clairemont Mesa)

Beaming grassy fields and undisturbed forests of trees make this beautiful park in Clairemont Mesa a bewitching location for an engagement session. With canopied dirt paths and beautiful hillside trails, this park is the perfect location for our down-to-earth couples who enjoy the beauty of nature.


6. Coronado

With a seamless blend of vast cityscapes of the Downtown San Diego Bay skyline with the fine white sand beaches looking out to the Pacific Ocean, Coronado is one of San Diego’s quintessential spectacles and one of the most popular locations for our San Diego couple engagement sessions. From the historic Hotel del Coronado built in 1888 on the West End, to the sunset reflections from the San Diego Bay & Coronado Bridge to the East, this San Diego Island encompasses vibrant city life and classic beach bliss for our couples.



7. Old Poway Park

This rustic San Diego park nestled in Old Poway is vintage charm at its finest.
